Are Paid Online Surveys a Scam? Find Out More About Them
Tuesday, May 19, 2009

Many avenues for making online are being constantly advertised and are beginning to get a bit overwhelming. However, from all those methods being tossed about online, one of the easier methods is through surveys, but there are some calling paid online surveys a scam.

Online surveys have been around for several years, but is only now becoming tremendously popular among those working part-time and in need of extra income. Essentially, paid online surveys follow these steps:

a) Register with the company

b) One is provided with questionnaire to fill to check for eligibility status. This is required because certain companies paying to have these surveys done are looking for a certain demographic.

c) One is presented with survey to complete

d) After survey the is complete, one is paid

Those are the steps used by many of the companies conducting surveys, and are simple enough for people of all ages to participate in the world of paid online surveys.

However, the reason some may refer to it as a scam is simply because they find it difficult to understand why a company would pay to have a survey done online from people they have never personally met.

Simply put, these major corporations would rather shell out a few dollars for each survey completed than to host a focus group for example. With a focus group, the company has the added bonus of being able to ask their potential customers more detailed questions concerning their product, but the problem with that is the size of the group being surveyed. When done online, the company would receive results from thousands of people across the country, which provides a much better understanding of their target market.
